Alexander V. Sobolev - Curriculum Vitae#
Current Position: Emeritus Distinguished Professor, Institute of Earth Sciences, Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France, and Corresponding Principal Investigator of ERC Synergy Protect " Monitoring Earth Evolution through Time " (MEET)
Languages: Russian (native), English (fluent), French (basic), German (basic).
Main areas of research: Petrology and geochemistry of processes in the mantle; modelling of mantle melting and melt transport; composition and origin of heterogeneities in the mantle; mantle geodynamics. Study of major, trace element and isotope geochemistry of magmatic phenocrysts and melt and fluid inclusions. Use state-of-the-art in-situ analytical methods (SIMS, LA-ICP-MS, EPMA, Raman, etc.) to decipher the composition of parent magmas and their evolution in magmatic systems in major tectonic settings.
