Professor Junguo Liu, Foreign Member of the Earth and Cosmic Sciences section of Academia Europaea, has been elected as a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Science
(SATW).
Academia Europaea is pleased to announce the election of Professor Junguo Liu, vice president at the North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, as member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Science (SATW). His election to the Swiss Academy of Engineering Science (SATW) is a testament to his contributions in linking climate scenarios, conducting risk assessments in the water sector, and implementing crucial hydraulic engineering measures.
The SATW is renowned for its commitment to promoting technological innovation and advancing engineering knowledge in Switzerland. On May 17, 2023, the 42nd SATW Members' Assembly was held at Google Switzerland in Zurich, where Professor Liu was presented with the membership certificate by Benoît Dubuis, the president of SATW.
Professor Liu, internationally recognized for his expertise in water resources and river restoration, has made remarkable contributions in his field. His groundbreaking research on the interplay between climate scenarios, risk assessment, and hydraulic engineering measures has garnered global recognition.
