Sir Roger Elliott (1928 - 2018)#

The President and Board of Trustees and friends and colleagues in the Academia Europaea report with great sadness that Professor Sir Roger Elliott M.A.E. died on 16 April 2018 aged 89.

Sir Roger Elliot was elected in 2008, and was an active member of the section Physics and Engineering Sciences. He was elected Treasurer following the retirement of Peter Day in 2010 and retiring from that role in 2015.

"Roger was a dear colleague and a wise counsellor during his years on the Board and had been an excellent Treasurer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and I do recall with pleasure that he was “of the old school” – a kind and remarkable man with a wealth of experience and some fascinating stories of the early days of nuclear physics working with Teller and others in the USA, and of his life as an Oxford Fellow.".
