Jinhua Ye - Biography#
Jinhua Ye received her B.Sc. degree from Zhejiang University, China, in 1983, and her Ph.D. degree from The University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1990. She joined National Research Institute for Metals (former NIMS) from 1991 as a postdoctoral researcher, and then promoted to Senior Researcher in 1994, and Group Leader in 2005. Till March 2023, Jinhua Ye has worked in National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) and served as the Director of Photocatalytic Materials Center from 2006 - 2011, Director of Environmental Remediation Materials Unit from 2011 - 2016, and a Principal Investigator at the International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) from 2007 - 2023. Meanwhile, she has been appointed as an adjunct Professor in Graduate School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering at Hokkaido University, and the Director of TJU-NIMS International Collaboration Laboratory at Tianjin University (TJU), China. From April 2023, Jinhua Ye moved to Hebei University, China, as a distinguished professor and the Director of “Research Center for Solar Driven Carbon Neutrality". She also holds an adjunct professorship and directs the Advanced Catalytic Materials Research Center at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tianjin University, China
Jinhua Ye has devoted herself to the research and development of new photo-functional materials for energy and environment applications for the last 30 years. She has conducted more than 16 International/National/Regional research projects in Japan/China as Project Leader/Principal Investigator, and has made significant contributions to the related field. Her research activity can be evidenced by more than 700 peer-reviewed research papers (including those in Nature, Nature Mater., Nature Catalysis, Nature Commun., J. Am Chem. Soc., Angew Chem., Adv. Mater., etc), which have been cited over 70,000 times (h index: 145). She was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2016, and selected as a Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science and/or Chemistry by Clarivate Analytics in 2016, 2018 - 2024, 2022 Pioneers in Energy Research (PIERs) by ACS publications. She is currently serving as an Associate Editor of Science Advances (2020~) and ACS Nano (2022~).
