Henry Völzke - Biography#

Henry Völzke is an epidemiologist with international reputation. He is in charge to develop the Study of Health in Pomerania to the population-based project with the most comprehensive examination programme ever been performed worldwide (up to 25h per examination wave).

He ensured breakthroughs in international epidemiology by, e.g., implementing whole-body MRI and examination of pets in human cohort studies.

As PI of the German National Cohort he takes responsibility to run the largest population-based cohort in Germany (>205,000 participants).

As coordinator of the EUthyroid and EUthyroid2 consortia he bridges the gap between observational epidemiology and preventive medicine.
