Stephen Oakley - Biography#

Professor Oakley studied for his BA and PhD at Queens' College, Cambridge (1977-1984). He was successively Research Fellow (1984-6) and Fellow/Director of Studies in Classics (1986-1998) at the same college. In 1998 he moved to the University of Reading as Reader in Classics and then became Professor (2001). In 2007 he moved back to Cambridge as Kennedy Professor of Latin.
