Personal Statement
Ivan Matic is studying some of the key conceptual questions of biology and evolution, like evolution of mutation rates, origin and consequences of phenotypic variability. He does not study only involved molecular mechanisms, but he also takes into account evolutionary and ecological processes responsible for their emergence.
