Antonio Masiero - Biography#
Masiero's research activity has dealt with various theoretical and phenomenological aspects of the three main roads to search for new physics beyond the particle physics Standard Model (SM): the high-energy (physics at accelerators, the high-intensity (“flavour” physics, both in the hadronic – K and B physics – and leptonic – lepton flavour violation – sectors; neutrino physics) and the astroparticle physics frontiers. More recently, much of his activity has been devoted to the promising and ever-growing field at the intersection between particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology, known as astroparticle physics. The main topics of his activities in this field concern dark matter and dark energy, cosmic matter-antimatter asymmetry, baryon and lepton number violation.
Motivated theoretical extensions of the SM is the context where his research is pursued. Emphasis has been given to theories of grand unification of the fundamental interactions, supersymmetry, supergravity, models of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking, theories with new dimensions (in addition to the usual 3+1 space-time dimensions).
He has been invited as overview speaker at more than 100 international workshops and conferences, and he has been convener of sessions at several international conferences (including three EPS conferences). He has been lecturer in more than 50 national and international schools (among them: the International School on Astroparticle Physics ISAPP, the Varenna School, the Les Houches Summer School, the Erice School on Subnuclear Physics). He has been
co-director of about ten editions of the ICTP Summer School on High Energy Physics and Cosmology and he has served on the scientific committee of several international workshops and schools.
He is author and co-author of more than 150 publications. Two publications have more than 700 citations each, four publications with approximately 300 citations and about fifteen publications with a number of citations between 100 and 200.
