Pedro Larrañaga - Biography#
Pedro Larrañaga is Full Professor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) since 2007, where he co-leads the Computational Intelligence Group (http:/http://cig.fi.upm.es). His research activities cover the topic of machine learning with several applications domains.
His main contributions in machine learning are the design of structure learning algorithms for Bayesian networks, the adaptation of probabilistic graphical models for solving multi-dimensional classification problems, the development of feature subset selection methods, as well as a new evolutionary computation metaheuristic called estimation of distribution algorithms.
Challenging real word machine learning problems have been approached by Dr. Larrañaga in several areas, such as Biomedicine, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, Industry4.0 and Sport Analytics.
