Ralph Kauz - Biography#

Prof. Ralph Kauz has been University Professor of Sinology at the University of Bonn since 2010 and has held distinguished post-doctoral and visiting professorships in both Europe and China in both Sinology and Iranology (University of Bonn, Iranian Studies, 10/2005 - 3/2006, Marburg University, Sinology, 4-9/2006 and 10/2007 - 3/2008). He is one of the few scholars in East-West Studies who is fully qualified in two major and complex languages, viz. Classical Chinese and Classical Persian. He is director of an active major research centre in the University of Bonn.
