Tomáš Jungwirth - Biography#


Between 1994 and 2004 PhD, postdoctoral, and research training in the United States (University of Indiana and University of Texas) in condensed matter physics, materials science, collective phenomena electronic properties of semiconductor nanostructures. Focus on research of low-dimensional semiconductor systems and quantum Hall effect. From 2004 Chair-Professor at University of Nottingham, UK. Focus on research of anomalous and spin Hall effects and ferromagnetic semiconductors. In 2007 founded the Department of Spintronics and Nanoelectronics at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Focus on research of ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic and non-magnetic spintronic devices.
