- Maternal drug abuse and its impact on fetal brain development
- Molecular blueprint and developmental biology of endocannabinoid signaling
- Axon guidance and synaptogenesis by bioactive lipids
- Exploitation of endocannabinoid signaling for therapeutic benefit in developing pancreas, muscle and brain
- Discovery of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) as a functional antagonist at cannabinoid receptors and its downstream targets
- Determination of three-dimensional histogenesis by coexistent receptor systems
- Analysis of neuronal diversity in the brain: discovery of neuronal subtypes in human brain ("shell cells") and hypothalamus
- Discovery and analysis of calcium sensor proteins, particularly secretagogin and NECABs
- Description of a molecular cascade allowing for fast phasic CRH release through first combination of RNA-seq and proteomics
- Establishment of unbiased neuronal subclassification by combining electrophysiology and single-cell RNA sequencing
