Octavia A. Dobre - Biography#

Dr. Dobre is a globally recognized authority in wireless communications. A Tier-1 Canada Research Chair, she is renowned for her pioneering research in emerging technologies such as NOMA, RIS, and quantum communications, which are integral to future networks.

Her prolific output includes over 360 journal and 210 conference papers, 2 patents, 4/6 books/book chapters, earning more than 29200 citations and an h-index of 83. Her works have been classified as highly cited or hot papers by the Web of Science, and won 9 Best Paper Awards at conferences and the IEEE ComSoc Heinrich Hertz Award for Best Communications Letter. Dr. Dobre’s contributions are widely acknowledged across academia and industry, with numerous accolades, including Fellowships from the IEEE and the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Dobre has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her role as the inaugural EiC of the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society and her tenure as EiC of the IEEE Communications Letters.
