ACADEMIC VISION

I think that knowledge generation by rigorous research should stay at the core of education, innovation, and development of society. Exploratory research could/should inform translationally the more applied research, in order to support disruptive, not only incremental innovations. Open science framework is fundamental in the modern science and in the globalized European research and educational area. Citizen science should be an important component of modern science, but the role of the experts should not be minimized in this process, on the contrary, it is fundamental in the times when pseudoscience is more and more vocal in society.
