Herve Claustre - Curriculum Vitae#
Hervé Claustre is Research Director (Full Research Professor) at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France. He works at the Villefranche Oceanography Laboratory, Sorbonne Université.
Degrees: Engineer in Agronomy (Dijon, France, 1983); Master of Oceanography (University of Paris VI, 1984); PhD in Oceanography (University of Paris VI, 1987); D. Sc. in Oceanography (University of Paris VI, France, 1995).
Post-doctoral Fellow (Plymouth Marine Laboratory, UK, 1988-1989); CNRS Research Scientist (Assistant Research Professor, 1990 - 2000) and then CNRS Research Senior Scientist (Research Professor, 2001-ongoing) at Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche, Sorbonne University. Visiting scientist, at University of California, Santa Barbara, USA (1995 - 1996).
Awards include: CNRS Silver Medal (2005) and two ERC advanced grants (2010 and 2019).
Supervision of 38 graduate students (18 PhD, 20 MSc) and 11 postdoctoral fellows (4 of which were/are EU Marie Curie Fellow), from 10 countries.
Publications: 177 refereed papers (20 as first author, 52 with students or post-doctoral fellows as first author).
More than 400 days at Sea. Participation in 13 cruises, two as Chief Scientist.
