Over 380 research papers and 17 books were published, which impacted basic and applied science and underpinned many advanced technologies. These activities involved immense international collaboration as is evidenced by the numerous (over 600 presentations /invited lectures) invited lectures given at over 130 Universities/research centres, the 28 international scientific conferences organized and the over 10,000 citations. In addition, four (4) books were published on science and society, and seven (7) books on energy. In the last 10 years most of my research effort focused on energy production and use and their impact on society and the environment. Special collaborative studies centred on the energy needs and resources of Greece. These activities involved immense international collaboration and more recently substantive interaction with European and World Academies.
