Arturo Anadón - Biography#
Prof. Dr. Arturo Anadón was awarded his DVM and obtained his PhD from Complutense University, Madrid, Spain, Master in Basic Pharmacology from the Faculty of Medicine, Complutense University, Madrid, Spain, EBVS European Specialist in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Member of the European College for Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (DipECVPT) and European Registed Toxicologist (ERT). Visiting Scientist, Department of Animal Pathology, Veterinary School, Toulouse, France. He worked as researcher at Medical Research Council, Department of Applied Physiology of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London, U.K., and Fellow of Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University, Cambridge MA, USA. He is currently Full Professor at Pharmacology and Toxicology Department, Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). He has authored 200 peer-reviewed publications in the journals: Toxicology, Archives of Toxicology, Annual Reviews of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Critical Review in Toxicology, Drug Metabolism Review, Toxicology Letters, Environmental Research, Science of Total Environment, Food and Chemical Toxicology, Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Drug Metabolism; authored 140 book chapters and 350 national and international congress contributions.
He serves as scientific reports of the editorial boards "Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology", "Molecules", "Toxicology Mechanisms and Methods", "Frontiers in Veterinary Science", "Toxicology Reports" among others. He received several nominations/awards.
He was member of the Executive Committee of Spanish Society of Toxicology (1989-1999), officer Member of European Association for Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (EAVPT), Junior vice-president (1997-2000), vice-president (1988-1991), President (2000–2009); senior vice-president, 2009–2018), member of Spanish Committee of Toxicology (CETOX)-IUTOX (2008-Present ), vice-chairman of the 12th International Congress of Toxicology (ICT-2010), Barcelona, Spain (2012), councilor and consilior sister organization in the Hispanic Organization of Toxicologists (HOT), Society of Toxicology, USA (2010-2011; 2011-2018), and chairman of the scientific committee of the 34th World Veterinary Association Congress, Barcelona (Spain) (2018).
