Aichelin is a very active scientist and researcher with outstanding publication record and citation frequency well above the usual in his research filed. He is active in joint European project, At this time he coordinates the theoretical physics activity of the Hadron Physics 2 European Integrated Infrastructure Initiative, the largest of its kind in High energy physics, to the satisfaction of all participants.

He has an international high esteem, trust and respect, also evidenced by his recent appointments of councils and committees of institutions in different European countries.
