TEACHING

During 1983, 1984 and 1985 he was lecturing both in the University of Crete and the School of National Tourist Organization at Athens, mostly about sculpture, architecture and ceramic of the Classical period.

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

1. Hellenistic sculpture from Rhodes and Cos (about 2.000 pieces of small scale). The program has started since 1980.

2. Sculptors’ signatures of the Hellenistic Period. Mainland Greece – Aegean – Asia Minor. The program is almost finished after 15 years of research and study.

3. The study of about 16.000 Hellenistic seal-impressions from Delos. A volume of this study has been published in France, Etudes Francohelleniques, Editions De Boccard (see BOOKS nr. 2).

4. Eleutherna on Crete, 1985 onwards. Excavations, Restorations and publications on Eleutherna in the special series of the Publications by the University of Crete (see BOOKS, nos. 3, 4, 5-5a, 19-19a, 20). Work sponsored by the University of Crete and by INSTAP.

5. Ploes. Sea Routes. A project focusing on the interconnections in the Mediterranean and especially during the EIA (12th to 6th c. BC). 2002 onwards (see BOOKS, nos. 14-14a)

6. Athletic and Olympic Spirit on the Periphery of the Hellenic World. The case of Magna Graecia. A project for the Athens 2004 Olympiad (see BOOKS, nos. 12-12a, 17).

7. Protection and Development of the Archaeological Area of Eleutherna. 3rd European Community Program (2000 – 2006, resp. 2002 – 2008).

8. Publishing Results of the Eleutherna Excavations. A project on publications of the entire archaeological work undertaken by different authors (archaeologists, anthropologists, architects, paleobotanologists etc). 2004 onwards.

9. Orne Aipy (with A. Kanta). A new scheduled program on a remote peak (refuge settlement) LBA – EIA on Crete, Ayios Vassilios area. Survey.
