Joan-Pau Rubiés - Biography#

After obtaining his PhD at Kings College at the University of Cambridge in 1992, and following two postdoctoral appointments at Queens' College Cambridge and the EUI, Prof. Dr. Joan-Pau Rubiés has held various positions at the University of Reading and the London School of Economics, until joining in 2012 Universitat Pompeu Fabra as ICREA Research Professor. He has received several prices and participated in prestigious international research projects, such as "Ethnographies, Cultural Encounters and Religious Missions" (ECERM), which he directs since 2014. He is the author of two books (published at Cambridge University Press and Ashgate) and edited five collective volumes; he has published more than 60 refereed articles in high-impact journals and books. He has given more than 100 lectures at international venues and organized nine international conferences.
