Hongxin Jiang - Biography#
JIANG Hongxin is the Distinguished Professor of American literature and comparative literature at Hunan Normal University, of which he also serves as the Chancellor. He has the membership of the Disciplinary Review Group of the State Council of China, and he is the President of the National English Literature Research Association, Associate Chair of the Foreign Languages and Literature Teaching Steering Committee and Chair of the English Teaching Steering Committee for Higher Education Institutions affiliated with Ministry of Education, and Associate Chair of the National Teaching Steering Committee for professional Master's in Translation and Interpreting (MTI).
His main research fields include Anglo-American literature, English education, translation theories and practice, Chinese and Western culture, and higher education. Published approximately ten Books in addition to a wide range of research articles, he is considered a leading expert on his scholarship on Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot in China, with his outstanding works like Approaching Four Quartets: A Study on T.S. Eliot's Poetic Art and History of Ezra Pound Studies. Currently, he directs a Major Bidding Project entitled "A Study of American Literary Thoughts of the 20th Century" supported by the national Social Science Fund of China. He has been awarded over ten major prizes, such as the national Teaching Achievement Award, the national Postgraduate Teaching Achievement Award and the National Outstanding Achievement Award for Humanities and Social Sciences.
