Chengzhou He - Biography#

Chengzhou He, B.A. and M.A. (Nanjing Normal University), Doctor of Arts (Oslo University), is Changjiang Distinguished Professor of English, Drama and Comparative Literature, and Dean of School of Arts, Nanjing U. He was Chinese Co-Director of the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies.

In addition to numerous articles in Chinese and English, his book publications include the single-authored Henrik Ibsen and Modern Chinese Drama (Oslo, 2004) and The Scandinavian Canonical Writers: Ibsen, Strindberg and Hamsun (Beijing, 2009) and the edited volumes Representation of the Other (Goettingen, 2009), Gender and Chinese Film (Nanjing, 2012) and Globalization and Intercultural Theatre (Nanjing, 2012). He was former Chairman of the International Ibsen Committee (2010-2012). In 2002, he was awarded the Ibsen Medal in Norway.
