  • Protein Chemistry: primary structure of cytoplasmic aspartate aminotransferase from pig heart muscle, structure of latrotoxins, protein modification and crystallization.
  • Toxinology: isolation of polypeptide toxins from snake, scorpion , spider and ant venoms; structure of polypeptide toxins; tetrodotoxin modification; structure-function relationships of natural toxins; spatial structure of polypeptide toxins; cloning of cDNA encoding protein toxins; analysis of spider venom EST databases, functional expression and mutagenesis of polypeptide toxins; polyamine spider toxins; neurotoxins as tools for study of receptor components.
  • Neuroreceptors: interaction of natural neurotoxins with sodium and potassium channels; isolation of sodium channel components from rat brain; α-latrotoxin receptor from bovine brain; latrophilin; glutamate receptor, hERG channel, TRPV1 and P2X receptors. Electrophysiology of ionic channels, receptor expression in Xenopus oocytes, recombinant DNA technique: site-directed mutagenesis, PCR techniques.


Other Skills and Experience:
