Johan Fornäs - Biography#

Fornäs is a professor of Media and Communication Studies at Södertörn University, Sweden and before taking up this position, he was a founding director for ten years of the Advanced Cultural Studies Institute of Sweden (ACSIS), a national research centre based at Linköping University, Sweden. He has conducted a large number of major research projects through which he has forged international networks and exchange programmes for young scholars, and hence he has acted as a role model for next generation academic excellence. He is author or editor of several dozens of books and some 300 academic articles. His academic service includes membership of highranking research funding bodies inc. board member 2008-2012 of the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation (Riksbankens Jubileumsfond).
