Biography:
Dr. Cai has developed unique expertise in mechanistic and applied research for bio-welding technology in China, has collaborated with the Barton Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
As the first director of the Cancer Genome Applied Engineering Laboratory in China, his research results have revealed the "Remodeling Tumor Suppressor Theory" of tumorigenesis, which has been hailed as a major progress in tumor genome research, the results has been published in Nature , Nature Genetics, European Urology, Cell, et al.
He is also the chief scientist in China's first national major basic research in medical synthetic biology, where his significant results have been achieved in the development of "engineered" cells to treat successfully more than 200 advanced tumor patients from the United States, Russia, Australia, Qatar and china and the results has been published in Nature Communication, Nature Methods, Elife et al.
