Angela Bracco - Curriculum vitae#
Angela Bracco is full professor in experimental Nuclear physics at the University of Milano and associated to INFN (the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics).
She has supervised 33 Master and 13 PhD theses, as well as supervised the research of 10 post-docs.
Her research field is nuclear structure, particularly with gamma spectroscopy. She carried out her research in several laboratories in Italy, Europe, USA and Japan (LNL of INFN (in Italy), GANIL(France), GSI (Germany), ANL(USA), ORNL(USA), TRIUMF(Canada), and RIKEN (Japan)) building and using complex instrumentation for gamma-ray spectroscopy with heavy-ion beams and radioactive beams. In this area of research, she has made important contributions to the study of collective nuclear modes, in particular giant resonances at zero and finite temperature.
She has published over 200 papers in refereed journals (with round 5325 citations, h-index=36 according to ISI-WoS). \
As outreach activity she has written papers for journals such as Nuclear Physics News, Asimmetrie of INFN, Notiziario Università di Milano, e-eps news. She was member of scientific committee of Energy-Lab in Lombardia.
She has given 70 invited talks (2 summary talks, and one keynote talk at 3 large conferences) plus 25 seminars at Universities or Laboratories.
She had long visits at ORNL, TRIUMF, NBI (Copenhagen).
She is Co-Editor of the journal EPL (2015-) and is member of the editorial board of Nuclear Physics A (2009-).
She has been editor for 4 volumes of Conference Proceedings, one being lectures of the Enrico- Fermi School in Varenna.
She has organised 7 international conferences and also collaboration meetings including those for the EU-ERA-NET NuPNET project.
Member of the International Advisory Committees of several (26) International Conferences.
Responsible for 1 of the 4 working packages of the EU-ERA-NET NuPNET project.
She was and is engaged in several international Review Committees for funding agencies in Europe and in a number of EU review panels ( within the FP6 and FP7 programs) . She is in the ERC starting grant panel since 2014.
For INFN she was chair of the Nuclear Physics board (2005 -2011) and member of the director board as representative of the Ministry of Education and research (2011 -2015).
She is chair of NuPECC ( expert board of European Science Foundation) since 2012.
She has been/is chair or member of the international scientific committees/councils of the major international nuclear physics institutes: HIE-ISOLDE (CERN), IRFU-CEA (Saclay), IN2P3-CNRS (Paris), GANIL (Caen), SPIRAL2 (Caen), INFN LNL (Legnaro) & LNS (Catania), GSI (Darmstadt), ELI-NP (Bucharest), RIKEN Nishina Centre (Tokyo), iThemba (Cape Town).
