Dear Members of the Physics and Engineering (P&E) Section of Academia Europaea (AE), You have all been notified earlier by our AE Executive Secretary about the

which will be held this year jointly with ALLEA, in collaboration with the Young Academy of Europe (YAE) and the Hungarian Academy of Science (HAS) in Budapest, in the period 4-6 September 2017. The 2017 Annual Business meeting of all AE Members of the Academia Europaea will be held on 4 September at 13:30 – 16:00. AE members elected in the 2016 cohort are especially welcome during the Annual Business meeting as they will receive the AE welcome material and membership credentials from the President of the Academia Europaea and will have the opportunity to shake hands and take a photo with him.

I would like further to inform you that the P&E Section Committee has organised a meeting of its Section between 14:00 and 18:30 on Sunday, 3 September, 2017. This section initiated workshop is scheduled just before the main AE Annual Conference. Our Workshop entitled

will take place in the Conference Room of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest V. ker., Arany János u. 1. Let me note, that our Section Initiated Workshop is open to the public; there is no registration fee requirement for attendance. However, for logistical reasons (coffee break, seats in the conference room, etc.), we kindly ask you to fill in the registration form on the above website as soon as possible, but not later than Thursday, August 31, 2017, if you would like to have coffee/refreshment during the coffee break.

It would be nice if P&E members who are attending this year’s AE Annual Conference, could arrange their stay in Budapest, Hungary so that they can also attend the P&E section initiated workshop on Inaugural Presentations by New Members of Academia Europaea on the afternoon of Sunday, 3 September 2017.

We kindly request the new members of 2016 cohort, to let the Chair of the P&E Section Muhsin Muhsin N. Harakeh know as soon as possible, if you plan to stay and attend the AE Annual Business meeting on Monday, September 4 as well, in order for us to arrange for the programme with the AE President.
