Catalogue Raisonné of the Sonata a Tre#
The complete catalogue raisonné of the Sonata a tre was recently published by G. Henle in Munich (Die Triosonate. Catalogue Raisonné der gedruckten Quellen). It was the culmination of the research project of Ludwig Finscher, who won the 2006 Balzan Prize for the History of Music.
Edited by three members of Academia Europaea, Ludwig Finscher, Laurenz Lütteken (University of Zurich, Deputy Director of the Balzan research project and chair of the Musicology and history of art and architecture section of Academia Europaea) and Inga Mai Groote, with the collaboration of Cristina Urchueguía, Gabriela Freiburghaus and Nicola Schneider, the catalogue (2 volumes, 1,150 pages) was published under the aegis of the RISM (Répertoire International des Sources Musicales). As the first complete inventory of one of the main forms of chamber music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, it brings to light many lesser known works which have long been neglected.
