AE participates in launch of INGSA Europe#
The European Chapter of the International Network for Governmental Science Advice (INGSA), held its inaugural conference on 31st March and 1st April 2025 at Queen’s College Oxford.
The event marked an important milestone in the expansion of INGSA, a global network dedicated to sharing knowledge and best practice in science advice.
With thriving Chapters already established in Africa, Asia, Latin America/Caribbean, North America and the Middle East, the launch of INGSA Europe brings a new dimension to the network’s global reach. Academia Europaea Cardiff’s


The two-day event featured sessions covering a range of themes, including trust and trustworthiness in science advice, the role of early-career researchers (ECRs), and knowledge security. The conference ended with a discussion on ways forward for INGSA Europe.
Participants represented a broad range of institutions, from academies and universities to the European Commission, the Joint Research Centre (JRC), and leading publishers. Among them were Wim van Sarloos MAE (President of EASAC), Helen Eenmaa (President of YASAS) and Tarmo Soomere MAE (President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, 2021 - 2024).
