Academia Europaea invites you to join us at our 37th Annual conference, Building Bridges 2026 which will take place from the 12th - 16th October 2026 in Budapest, Hungary.

Early-bird registration is available until 1 September, offering reduced registration fees for participants. With additional speakers and sessions still being announced, now is the ideal time to secure your place at one of Europe’s premier interdisciplinary scientific gatherings.

Registration fee#

Despite the moderate registration fee for participation at Building Bridges 2026, the program committee, and organisers of the meeting, together with the Board of the Academia Europaea, are aware that this fee presents a financial challenge for some AE members wishing to attend. In order to do what is possible to alleviate this situation, and to maximise the participation of interested AE members at Budapest, the organisers of BB26 have created the possibility to partially subsidise the costs for some participants. Note that our means are limited and thus can only pertain in cases demonstrating extraordinary circumstances. We hope herewith to have contributed to an even more representative participation of our membership in this vital conference.

Venue#

The conference will take place at the Bálna ("Whale") Event Centre, and the Academia Europaea Knowledge Budapest Hub (Hungarian Academy of Sciences) in Budapest.

Tuesday 13th October 2026: Class meeting and YAE meeting, Annual General Meeting and Welcome Reception, Bálna ("Whale") Evening Centre in Budapest

Wednesday 14th October 2026: Plenary Lectures, Award Ceremonies, Welcome New members, President Dinner

Thursday 15th October 2026: Plenary Lectures and/or other special lectures

Friday 16th October 2026: Cultural programme or geological trip
