John Briscoe - Biography#

Educated at Mill Hill School and Corpus Christi College, Oxford (BA 1960, MA 1963, DPhil. 1965). Junior Research Fellow (1962-7) and College Lecturer (1967-8), Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Lecturer in Greek and Latin (1968-74), Senior Lecturer in Greek and Latin (1974-82), Reader in Latin (1982-96), Honorary Research Fellow (1996 to date), University of Manchester. Visiting Fellow, Wolfson College, Oxford, 1981 - 1982.

Member (Lab.) of Oxford City Council, 1962 - 1968.
