Over a distinguished career David Gaunt has made a lasting contribution to an unusually wide variety of historical topics ranging from Swedish population to genocide in twentieth century Armenia. Recently his work has extended to understanding the familial and social context of ageing in Europe and the place of Swedish communities across the continent. Gaunt is highly regarded in all the fields to which he has contributed and in the Middle East and North America as well as in Europe and Russia.
