Seamus Heaney (1939 - 2013)#

The Academy is saddened to annouce that Irish poet Seamus Heaney, an honorary member of the Academia Europaea and a Nobel laureate for Literature 1995 "for works of lyrical beauty and ethical depth, which exalt everyday miracles and the living past", died August 30, 2013, aged 74.
