__Honours and Awards__
* 2022 SIR PATRICK MANSON MEDAL awarded by the ROYAL SOCIETY OF TROPICAL MEDICINE AND HYGIENE (October 8th 2022). This is the highest distinction accorded by the RSTMH. Sir Zumla is the first non-Caucasian, ethnic minority academic to be ever  awarded this prestigious medal in the past 100 years. * 2022 UK-NIHR SENIOR INVESTIGATOR AWARD (2017-2026)  from the UK Department of Health, National Institute for Health Care and Research, NHS, London, UK. The NIHR  Senior Investigators are ‘among the most prominent and prestigious researchers ‘ and the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research within the NIHR Faculty. Sir Zumla was awarded this in 2017 and it was renewed in 2022 until 2027
* 2021 THE EDCTP PASCOAL MOCUMBI PRIZE: This prestigious prize is named after Dr Pascoal Mocumbi, the former prime minister of   Mozambique, who in 2000, together with European Union countries formed the EU-European and Developing Countries’ Clinical Trials Partnership EDCTP. The Prize is for ‘any individual (scientist, policy maker or advocate) from any part of the world who has made outstanding achievements in health research and advanced capacity development and training in Africa with significant impact  on the well-being of the populations of Africa and other developing countries. * 2020 THE MAHATHIR SCIENCE AWARD –TROPICAL SCIENCES -  awarded by the MALAYSIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES.
