Dr. Didier Samuel, MD, PhD, is full Professor of Hepatology and Gastroenterology (currently Exceptional Class) at Université Paris-Saclay, Villejuif, France. since 1997. He is currently Chairman and CEO of INSERM ( National Institute for Health and Medical Research) since 2023. \\

__Diplomas:__

*Graduated in Medicine (M.D.) in 1985 at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, France\\
*Obtained his qualification in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 1985 and his qualification in Intensive care in 2002\\
*Obtained his Doctorate of University Paris-Sud  in 1994 ( PhD.) \\
*Obtained the Habilitation to be Director of Research in 1995

*1981 Nominated asIntern of Paris Hospitals\\
*1986 - 1990 Chef de Clinique, Praticien Hospitalier (full time consultant physician in  Gastroenterology and Hepatology) 1991 - 1997, and Professor of Hepatology in 1997 all at Paul Brousse University Hospital\\
*Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program, and Head of both the Liver and Intensive Care Units at Centre Hepatobiliaire of University Hôpital Paul Brousse in Villejuif  from 1999 to 2023

He was Director of Inserm Research Unit 785 then 1193 at Université Paris-Saclay since 2005 to 2023.\\

He was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Paris-Saclay from 2017 to 2023 and was elected President of the French Conference of Deans of Faculties of Medicine from 2022 to 2023. \\

Prof Samuel has published over 500 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and textbooks, with a H-index of 91 (Web of Science 2024) and 120 ( Google Scholar 2024) and has given over 400 invited ectures at international congresses. \\
