Editor, Proteome Standards Initiative: As Editor and Steering Committee Member of the Proteome Standards Organisation (2006--2010), I had responsibility for forming and implementing policies for the development of standards in proteomics.\\

Co-Chair, Global Grid Forum Working Database Access and Integration Services Group (2002--2006): I had a central role in the management and development of industry standards for database services.\\

Chair - BBSRC/EPSRC Bioinformatics Panel: As chair of this funding panel (1998-2000), I had responsibility for chairing meetings that awarded grants in the programme, and had a strategic role in helping to shape and develop the initiative.\\ \\
