__Scientific Leadership and Service:__

*1998: Initiated the Warwick Eighteenth-Century Centre and the Luxury Project, and directed this until 2007.
*2006: Initiated the Global History and Culture Centre (GHCC) which I directed until 2010. Ran international conferences, seminars, new MA programmes, and attracted PhD students, postdoc fellows and a number of external grants.
*Supervised 12 postdoctoral fellows, including one Marie Curie Fellow (Thébaud-Sorger)and 10 PhD students (3 completed in 2010). Currently supervising 3 postdoctoral fellows, a Museum fellow, and 4 PhD students (2 complete in 2011).
*Served on two Standing Committees and the Grants Board of the British Academy, proposing new Fellows and assessing major and small grant applications and postdoctoral fellowships.
*Served on the major Research Priorities Board of the ESRC as well as its Research Recognition and PhD Studentship panels.
*Took a leading part in framing and setting up the ESRCCultures of Consumption Programme.
*Served on funding panels of the AHRC.
*Served on the editorial boards of two journal
